over 100 viewers from the US.

So, as you can guess from my title I've had over 100 viewers from the U.S.

Please comment saying what you think and even if you're too shy to give feedback just say where you're from (as in what state you're from) and/or where you found my blog or if you're a first time viewer or have returned :).

I'm really intrigued to know!

What I Wore.

My Spotify isn't being my friend at the moment so I'm struggling to search for any new artists and blog about it, so I'm trying to fill the time with other posts and this time I'm going to post about an outfit I've worn. It isn't actually what I wore today because today I'm dressed like a slob but it's what I wore on Thursday when I had work and when I went to see twilight :).

As you can see they aren't amazing photos.
I wore a black baroque style baggy top, tucked into a purple skater skirt, with a leather jacket, just plain black tights, 2 scarfs and a necklace :).

because you can't see the top much I've uploaded a separate picture of it. It's George from Asda and was £10 (which I'm quite impressed by), the skirt was only £7 from Primark, the leather jacket was £30 from New Look last winter and in these photos I'm wearing 2 scarfs - the floral one from Dorothy Perkins 2 years ago and the other (knitted and hooded) one from Topshop 3 years ago.
With this outfit I wore my studded shoes with gold studs from Internacionalé even though you cant see them :) and I did matching nails.

these were my nails and I have purple nail varnish on all of my nails and gold on my ring finger and then I put purple crackle nail varnish on every finger. (all of the nail varnishes used were Barry M).

buyers guilt.

Hey! :)
So, in my last post I was about to go to work before going to watch the new Twilight film. I have to admit, I was disappointed :(! The first half of the film was just over the top with constant special effects and not even good ones (there's only so many times you can watch some people running and jumping), the second half was better than the first half because they had a sneaky twist that I WAS NOT expecting!
Personally, I think they'd have been better doing the whole of Breaking Dawn as one film and following the plot of the book more.

Moving on...
This week I've had a bit of buyers guilt because I've realised I own 5 pairs of studded shoes - this would be more acceptable is 3 pairs of them weren't black!
To justify this a little bit I have to admit one of the black pairs are practically falling apart but I can not bare to throw them away and the other black pairs were an attempt to make myself throw the original studded pumps away BUT I JUST CAN'T DO IT!
and the glittery ones are totally unnecessary and impractical but beautiful :).
the ones on the top right are the old ones (its obvious so I don't know why I'm pointing out) and the bottom left ones were an attempt to replace them but they have more studs and just aren't the same.

(L-R starting on the top row) SCHUTZ bought from TK Maxx, Internacionale, Topshop (no longer on sale), Topshop (the new versions of the previous ones), Bershka.

Oh!  To add another thing to my last post about Uuniversity stress I went to my 2nd 9am lecture of the semester today (I have 2 a week) and it was pointless. Both of the ones I've actually dragged myself out of bed to attend I've learnt nothing in! HOW RIDICULOUS!
and to add to this annoyance I waited around in campus for an hour (which felt like 3 hours!) for another lecture which I have the same lecturer for 2 hours straight and she didn't turn up! (how rude!) and because I've had such a messy day I can't focus on Uni work tonight :(
So, I'm still lagging in motivation! HEEEEELP.

Any Advice?! What gets you motivated?

P.S. feedback and comments are welcome!
I'll always make sure I reply :)!

Breaking dawn and dawn of the dead?

Hey (:

So, I won't be blogging later on because I'm going to see the midnight showing of  Breaking Dawn Part Two, the last part of the Twilight Saga!
I can't deny that I'm stupidly excited to go and see it after reading all of the books and going to see all of the other films I HAVE to see it!
(and I have to admit the trailer looks amazing, although taking quite a different story line from the book which is slightly disappointing).

This week has been a bit of a wake up call for me, before now I've been being quite lazy and choosing to either stay in bed or go out and socialise rather than go to my University lectures but this week it's sort of dawned on me that exams on coming quicker than I expected and I only have 4 more weeks of the semester left before Christmas is here (EEK!) and I'm 100% sure that the Christmas break will go 100 times quicker than the semester has.
So, now I'm in a bit of a fluster and trying to desperately catch up on work so I'm not on the verge of a mental breakdown over Christmas (I probably will still be on the verge of a mental breakdown but it's always worth hoping :)!)
To add to the stress of trying to catch up on work I also have 2 presentations to do and 3 lab reports (Booooo :(!) but I'm quite looking forward to researching Programmed Cell Death for my Human Biology presentation and to finishing my own PCR to write my Lab Report on! woohoo!

I'm sure there's loads of people who feel the same, In fact - I know there is because I've spoke to a few people I live with and they all feel the same.

But over the Christmas there's one thing we all need to remember:

ENJOY!

Christmas Wish List

Today I started looking on the internet for things I want for Christmas and started writing a Christmas list, here's a few things I want!

Enjoy!

guided tour.

Hey! :)

So, I haven't posted over the weekend - I work part time so I'm always busy (or sleeping).

Last week I had treatment of the walls in my room at Uni for damp and had to take all of my posters/pictures down and my room felt like a prison cell so this week now I've been able to fix it all, I've decided to give you a guided tour :).

This is the main wall in my room and I've essentially covered it in posters and photos that remind me of home :). so, featured on this wall is (L-R) Wall-E, the arctic monkeys, the big bang theory and 'Where's Wally?' and lots of photos of me and my f&f!
Oh, and the most important bit - my academic year planner which is laminated so I can write on it with a whiteboard marker! I don't know what I'd do without it and it cost less than £1! :)

So, this is the wall with my notice board on (the only bit that I'm actually allowed to put pictures and stuff on - what a rule breaker!) and I've got a poster of New York, New York (I've actually been there!!!) and just a free a/w fashion one from an ASOS catalogue. but then on my notice board I've just got loads of pictures including a few photos, and just some pictures of my favourite bands (e.g. the black keys, foster the people, the vaccines, little comets, the smiths & arctic monkeys) and then various bits and bobs :).
On the picture above you can see my bed so I though I'd put a more zoomed in photo on too :), it's got my shoe box of my millions of nail varnishes and other bits for my nails (including a nail dryer - which is the best invention ever in my opinion) and lots of magazines because there are ALWAYS out because I'm always using them.
(oh, and my childhood teddys (Sammy) and my new microwavable owl which is SO cute!
So, this is the other part of my room. :)
Here you can see my desk, shelves, shoe rack (yes, I have too many shoes) and one more poster of the big bang theory.

I thought I'd show my shelves in more details because I think it reflects a lot about the necessities when going to Uni haha!
A summary of it's contents are: alcohol and soft drinks, easy cook food like pasta, noodles and rice, make-up, a kettle, ipod docking station, lots of DVD's, a biscuit tin, a fruit bowl (filled with chocolate and sweets!) a years supply of toilet roll (thanks to my mum!), texts books & a piggy bank (to save those all important pennies!)

My favourite bits:

(L-R) my monkey memory stick, my post-it note dispenser (wow!), my pink sticky tape dispense and 2 ducky rubbers :).

my multicoloured diary and my weekly to do list mouse mat.
my tulip lamp! (I love that it's in a plant pot!) :).

So, that is my room - I have to admit that I love it and plan on filling it more :).

just a few things I need in my life right now.

hard as nails.

This week I decided to relive childhood when I painted my nails and paint them multicoloured!
The blue is a bit chipped but not much considering I've taken this photo after work :).
I didn't feel daring enough to go for bright in-your-face colours so I went for pastels and shades that I associated with sweets :).
So, my thumb and middle finger is done with some miniture bottles of nail varnish by Hoof Hands which I got in a set of 12 from TK Maxx for £7.99, the whole set are different colours and they're all quite bright.
My first finger, ring finger and little finger are all done using nails inc. nail varnishes which again I got from TK Maxx but this time the set of 3 were £12.99 (all of these nail varnishes are still available online like on ebay :)).
The nails inc. shades are: purple - lowndes square, blue - albert place and orange - wellington square.

I quite like them but I still feel a bit conscious that people are going to see them and think I'm stuck in the 90's or something and it's difficult to put together outfits that aren't going to completely clash.
But painting my nails in these colours has definitely lifted my mood after I was a bit miserable about this cold weather!

Why don't you try it? :)

WILT #2:

Hey :).
So at the moment one of my favourite artists is Alex Winston, her song 'Choice Notes' was on the TK Maxx advert last year and because I work at TK Maxx I got listening to her music :)
I like all of her songs especially 'Velvet Elvis' and 'Medicine', I have to admit that 'Choice Notes' is my least favourite but that's more due to the fact that I've listened to it waaaay too many times at work but I still can't help but keep it on my iPod because I relate it to loads of good times that I had over summer :).
I definitely recommend her music to anyone who hasn't listened to her music before and I'd say her sound is quite pop but really unique at the same so it's really difficult to describe I've put a clip of Velvet Elvis in this post for you to just have a listen :).
I've also just found a band called 'The Knocks', I don't think they're going to become my favourite any time soon but I do quite like the sound of their music. The music they make with the male singer doing the most quite remind me of Calvin Harris but with a bit of an Indie Pop sound (especially their song called 'The Feeling') :) - one of their songs is called 'Magic' and I've heard it before but I cannot for the life of me think where I've heard it so much.
Definitely a good sound and for me they remind me a lot of summer!

Listen and enjoy!

WILT (what I'm listening to) #1:

So, my best friend just recommended I listen to 'Imagine Dragons' and when I searched for them on Spotify I was disappointed to see there were only 2 songs there and neither of them were what he recommended (never mind I will not give up on them - they're now on my list of things to search on youtube!) but while I was there I couldn't help but look at a few of the 'related artists' to get an idea of what to expect from them.
On my explorations I fell upon The Answering Machine and I have to say I am in love.

If you like indie pop music you're in for a treat.
I'd say they've got a similar sound to bands like little comets and two door cinema club in the fact that they've got quite an upbeat sound but not too in-your-face happiness so I could easily listen to their music whatever mood I'm in. :)
So far my favourite songs  are 'Obviously Cold' and 'My Little Navy'.
I quite liked 'Its Over! Its Over! Its Over' but every time the singer says 'Oh' I can't help but feel the urge to say 'Whats Occurrin'' - this is hardly criticism of their sound but more a problem with my love of Gavin and Stacey.

Search them and Enjoy!

I can't stop dying my hair.

As you get to know me you'll learn that I'm constantly changing my hair and in the last month I've had 3 different hair colours.
It sounds excessive but I can't help myself :)

it started out blonde
but I always think blonde hair only suits me with a tan - as weird as that sounds - and I wanted something to stand out a bit more...
 ...so I went for red
but it just fades waaaaay too quickly I dyed it red 3 times and it had it turned to a pinky colour within 1 or 2 washes (and I am not willing to wash less to preserve my haircolour!)...
...so now it's 'dark auburn' (brown with a red tint in normal terms!)
This is a lot more of a natural looking shade for me and it seems a bit strange because I'm used to my hair standing out or being obviously not natural (having blonde hair and dark eyebrows) and it's a very similar colour to my mum and sisters natural colour so I do feel like I'm trying to be more like them unintentionally >.< but other than that I'm quite happy with it FOR NOW :).
I dread to think what it will be next!

ideas?

First Post. Woohoo!

Hi, my names Sally, I'm 18 and I've recently started University studying Human Biology and Psychology :).
I've blogged before but not for a while so it's still kind of new to me!

I've started this blog as something to do in me free time during uni (not that I'm expecting to have much!) and as something that I can use as a bit of sentiment in the future :). (and to give me a place to say all the things I want to say and no one wants to listen to of course!)

I haven't planned a specific topic of the blog but considering I'm a total shopaholic - I imagine shopping will become one of the main features! :)

Enjoy!
